Description of Commercial Solar Project :

The Goals: As with many customers, their main goal was to reduce energy bills through the installation of a renewable energy system. Solar Balance won this project through a tender process run by Goldfields Voluntary Regional Organisation of Councils (GVROC).

Solar Balance’s greatest value was to clearly demonstrate our expert knowledge of the renewable energy industry and providing services to isolated regional communities.

We also created an opportunity for an additional revenue stream by challenging GVROC’s consultant’s specification of anti-export protection which was not required.

The Approach: The system is comprised of 100kWp of GCL PV Modules and SMA Tripower solar inverters connected to the Western Power Network. The PV modules were mounted using a combination of flat and tilt frames on the different roof pitches and orientations for best system performance.

The Results: The system has been producing consistently high solar yields, which has resulted in increased export revenue and a stronger return on investment for the Shire of Coolgardie.
